"Harry Potter" Stars, the Highest-Paid Teens

Since his first major role as Harry, in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Daniel Radcliff, as well as his costars, Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), make the most money---$20 million a film!---for their roles in the Harry Potter films. With the last 2 installments around the corner, life will certainly be a bit richer for the Brit teens. Go Harry!! Farewell to Corey Haim, a Victim Like So Many Child Stars, who Passes Away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Actor Corey Haim has passed away from an apparent drug overdose. From http://www.popeater.com/:

Corey Haim, the former teen idol who rose to fame in 1980s classics 'The Lost Boys' and 'Lucas,' died Wednesday morning of an apparent drug overdose in Burbank, Calif., the LAPD has confirmed. He was 38. Haim collapsed in the Oakwood apartment belonging to his mother, who was at home at the time and called 911.

"As he got out of bed, he felt a little weak and went down to the floor on his knees," Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.

According to reports, there were prescription bottles found nearby, but no illicit drugs. There is no evidence of foul play and the overdose appears to have been accidental.

Haim was taken to nearby Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. An autopsy to determine the cause of death is pending.

From www.blackplanet.com: R&B singer arrested for allegedly soliciting oral sex.

How does it feel... to get stung by an undercover cop? An undercover cop allegedly arrest R&B singer D'Angelo when he apparently offered a woman, whom he assumed was a prostitute, $40 for oral sex. Well, it turned out she was an undercover cop. D'Angelo was allegedly arrested for soliciting oral sex. I'm sure D'Angelo knows how it feels now, huh?

Part of an essay I wrote for the novel, Ordinary People, by Judith Guest

In the novel Ordinary People, both Conrad and Beth both illustrate their lack of closeness that they have for one another. By Beth, it is about what she wants and what she needs. Beth wants to go away for Christmas. Cal, however, politely declines because he does not want to leave Conrad, their son, alone. Beth seems to not understand why they cannot go away, since they have gone away for Christmas every year. It is a tradition. She wants to go back to the way things were before Jordan's, (their younger son) death; Cal's not wanting to go, however, demonstrates his need to stay close to Conrad. He does not want Conrad to "slip up" should they leave. Beth, however, does not want to hear this. She does not understand why she should adjust, or even change, her lifestyle because of the choices that Conrad has made. This further accentuates Beth's self-centered ways. This can be compared to Igby Slocum, the main character from the film, Igby Goes Down (directed by Burr Steers, and starring Kieran Culkin, Macaulay Culkin's brother [Home Alone]) and his not wanting to become close to his mother (played by Susan Sarandon) or his brother, Ollie (played by Ryan Philippe). Igby's relationship with the two of them is strained and estranged. The two tower over him, watching him, in order to keep him from leaving their clutches. They do not want him to break free from their world.

“P-R-E-S-S-E-D #2"

P - Pissed and angry you seem to be.
R - Raging and ranting are all I see.
E - Every person in here sees as well,
S - Seeing you upset and not so swell,
S - So fake and phony, irritating as hell.
E - Every word you lament and express.
D - Do we need to hear? You are a mess.
